Professional Background

Sheryl Frank is a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia. For the past 22 years, she has been helping children, adolescents, and adults lead more fulfilling and satisfying lives. Dr. Frank received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University in 1993. She completed a clinical internship and advanced family therapy training at the NW Family Center and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, DC. She has worked with children, adults, and their families at Parent Infant Development Program in Washington, DC and Kennedy Krieger Institute Family Center in Baltimore, MD where she coordinated a Birth – 5 Clinic. Dr. Frank has provided consultation services to teachers and parents at Headstart, preschool, and daycare centers, including lectures and training on child development, classroom management, and recognizing emotional struggles. Dr. Frank currently has a private practice in downtown Silver Spring. In addition, she is a consultant at the DC Assessment Center where she has provided more than 300 court-ordered psychological and psycho-educational evaluations of children in the foster care system. Dr. Frank also provides supervision for psychologists in training. She has coordinated the lecture series for the CHADD group of Montgomery County and has provided lectures to parents of children with ADHD and social workers in the child welfare system. Dr. Frank is a member of the American Psychological Association, Maryland Psychological Association, and CHADD (Children and Adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).
